Waubra Wind Farm has been operational since 2009 and was once ACCIONA Energía’s largest wind farm in Australia.
Located 35 km north-west of Ballarat in Victoria, on both sides of the Sunraysia Highway, you'll find 128 wind turbines capable of producing 192 megawatts of electricity. This is enough to power 138,000 homes.
Since the project became operational, ACCIONA Energía has created a direct total community investment of approximately $10 million.

Each year we invite grant applications from community groups and organisations who wish to contribute to the sustainable development of their communities.
Applications for the 2025 Waubra Small Grants Program will open on 3 February 2025.
Established in 2008 and now valued at approximately $100,000 annually, the Waubra Wind Farm Community Fund Inc. is administered by a group of 16 community organisations from the local area, with funds being used in support of their projects, as well as the broader community.
We're proud to run an annual sponsorship program that supports local students wishing to undertake tertiary education. Each year, we provide one-time scholarships of $5,000 to two local students, with a preference given to those studying engineering, science or agricultural based courses.
