Can renewable energy meet Australia's capacity demands?
The short answer is yes. Listen to Power Systems Engineer James explain the different reasons that renewable energy is not only a possible solution, but a good one.
How much have wind turbines changed over the years?
As technologies advance, wind turbines become more and more efficient. Hear ACCIONA Energía’s Wind Turbine Engineer Ruchira explain this!
How does livestock interact with wind farms in Australia?
Listen to some of our host landowners talk about what it’s like to work with ACCIONA Energía, and explain the benefits the project has had on their land and livestock.
Frank is a Turbine Technician at one of ACCIONA Energía's wind farms in Victoria. He often gets asked about how the wind farms actually work, so he is going to show us around and explain how a wind turbine generates power for our community.
Meet one of our Turbine Technicians, Andrew as he takes us through a day in his life at one of ACCIONA Energía's wind farm projects in Victoria.
How is wind power converted into electrical energy? It's a simple process at first glance, but you may not know what happens inside a wind turbine to convert wind power into electricity.
ACCIONA Energía has a commitment to sustainability on the MacIntyre Wind Farm, and the translocation project of the vulnerable macrozamia conferta species is one example of this. The project has contributed research to the University of Queensland, helping scientists to better understand the species which will assist in the protection of it in the future.
The Mortlake South Wind Farm project in Victoria generates substantial additional economic focus in the Moyne Shire, independent of, but complimentary to ongoing dairying, grazing, cropping, tourism and associated service activities.
ACCIONA Energía is leading the way in renewable energy innovations with the deployment of two 'Blade Manipulators' on the MacIntyre Wind Farm. These vehicles are the first of their kind to be used in Australia and will increase the rate of blade delivery on site and reduce the environmental footprint of the project.
Listen to Leigh, Manager of Land & Asset Management, as she reflects on the positive impact Waubra Wind Farm has had on the local community.
Maria loves working in the local community and facilitating the community benefit programs that this flagship project provides.
MacIntyre Wind Farm is just one example of the many exciting projects being built across Australia. By rapidly scaling up these initiatives, we pave the way for a future where we protect our environment while bringing economic benefits for everybody.
The team building the MacIntyre Wind Farm tells us about their experience at one of the world's largest renewable energy facilities. The project, which will be operational in 2025, will generate clean electricity to supply around 700,000 homes and prevent the emission of around 3 million tonnes of CO2.
Carlene is a maintenance worker at MacIntyre Wind Farm
and a local who runs a small farm. She has found a great work-life balance dividing her time between the wind farm and her own business. “The money I earn from working at the wind farm gives me the money I need to look after my farm and my future,” says Carlene.
Alice is a site engineer at ACCIONA Energía's MacIntyre Wind Farm Project, near Warwick in Queensland.
Carl is a Driver at Crisps Coaches, transporting workers to and from the site of ACCIONA Energía's MacIntyre Wind Farm every day.
Maria is the Stakeholder Engagement Lead for MacIntyre Wind Farm. She loves giving back to the community and working with the team on site, including around 360 people from the local workforce.
Adam is the owner and mechanic at Byrne Automotive in Warwick, Queensland. His workshop has been supporting the fleet of ACCIONA Energía vehicles involved in the construction of the MacIntyre Wind Farm – the largest wind farm under construction in Australia.
In the spirit of reconciliation, ACCIONA Energía acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
