Since commencing our Australian operations in 2002, ACCIONA Energía has contributed more than $3.7 million to local communities through a combination of grants, scholarship funding, and other community benefits programs.

For each project, we collaborate with local communities to create unique engagement and benefit programs that share the value of the project throughout local areas, in a way that really matters.

These funds involve acting with the community to boost existing community initiatives to broaden the knowledge and understanding of renewable energy in our local communities.

Our focus is on supporting local initiatives that contribute to the health, education, sustainability, conservation, and cultural development within our local communities.

ACCIONA implements an annual scholarship program at our sites when they enter the operations phase. Each year, we are proud to provide a one-time scholarship of $5000 to a student wishing to undertake tertiary education that will benefit their community. Scholarship recipients are selected through an application process, and preference will be given to those studying engineering, science or agricultural based courses.

Applications for 2024 have now closed. Applicants will be notified of outcomes by early May.

ACCIONA Energía invites small grants applications from community groups who wish to contribute to the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate. The nature of the small grants program is based on a combination of factors, including the size of the project, and is determined in consultation with the community.
