Upcoming Traffic Surveys in the Area

12 March 2026

As part of the ongoing studies required for the Environment Effects Statement (EES), our consultants will soon be carrying out traffic surveys across the local road network. These surveys help build a clear, data‑driven picture of how roads are currently used and ensure that any future planning is informed, safe, and considerate of local community needs.

When the Surveys Will Occur

They will be in the area from Friday 13 March 2026.

What to Expect

Traffic surveys will take place at several locations across the area. These will involve two types of equipment:

1. Traffic Cameras

    • Small, temporary cameras will be mounted near several intersections.
    • They capture vehicle movements, not people or private property.
    • Data collected is used for intersection counts and queue length assessments.
    • Cameras are compact and will be removed once the survey concludes.

2. Traffic Tubes

    • Rubber tubes are placed across the road surface to count vehicles and measure traffic flow.
    • These will also remain for at least five days.

Why This Is Being Done

Traffic surveys are a routine part of project planning. They help ensure we have accurate, up‑to‑date information about how local roads are used so that any future design work can consider traffic flow, safety, and local conditions.

We appreciate your patience while this work takes place. The equipment is temporary and will be removed as soon as the surveys are complete.
