Have Your Say: Tall Tree Wind Farm EES Scoping Requirements

24 April 2026

ACCIONA Energía is inviting the local community to have their say on the next step in the assessment of the proposed Tall Tree Wind Farm in Golden Plains Shire.

The Victorian Minister for Planning has confirmed that the project will undergo an Environment Effects Statement (EES) — a comprehensive, transparent review process that looks closely at potential environmental, social and economic impacts.

About the project

The proposed Tall Tree Wind Farm would include:

  • Up to 53 wind turbines and supporting infrastructure
  • Up to 360 MW of renewable electricity generation
  • Battery storage of up to 800 MWh
  • A construction period of around two years
  • An operational life of at least 30 years

What’s open for comment now?

The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has prepared Draft Scoping Requirements. These set out:

  • What studies will be undertaken for the EES
  • What issues will be investigated (including noise, landscape, biodiversity, traffic, and amenity)
  • How potential impacts will be assessed and addressed

This is an important early opportunity to provide input and help shape the focus of the EES.

Commonwealth approval

The project also requires approval under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The Victorian EES process will also assess matters of national environmental significance, including listed threatened species and communities.

When you can comment

Public comments on the Draft Scoping Requirements are open from:

24 April 2026 to 15 May 2026

All submissions will be considered by the Minister for Planning when finalising the Scoping Requirements and will form part of the public record.
