Riding the wind at the Noorat Show

21 November 2025

Our team were excited to say hello to the communities around the Mortlake South Wind Farm last Saturday at the Noorat Show! The sun was out, as were the crowds - Chris, Sara, Leah, Dominic and Erin were busy staffing the stand to share information about the wind farm, including the latest on our 'Turbine Made' recycling campaign with a surfboard made from turbine blade particulate on display. This of course made a great talking point, as we explained how our initiative was sparking ideas about how we meet the challenge of recycling our turbine blades at end of life.

Conversations beyond this included enquiries about our small grants program (launching in February 2026, really not long now!), career opportunities at the wind farm, and our outreach to local schools learning about recycling and renewables. We shared ideas that students at Timboon Primary School came up with to create new products out of recycled blades, including tyres, an airless basketball and a cow crush!
