South West Renewable Energy Zone Access Rights

24 April 2025

There have been a number of recent developments in relation to the proposed Keri Keri Wind Farm, which we would like to share.

On Wednesday, 23 April 2025, the outcome of the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Access Rights tender was announced. Unfortunately, the Keri Keri Wind Farm was not successful and has not received access rights. EnergyCo has advised that under the Access Scheme, the initial allocation of Access Rights in the South West REZ is now complete.

Following the submission of the Environmental Impact Statement in April 2024, the Keri Keri Wind Farm is currently in the Response to Submissions phase. We intend to continue with the Environmental Impact Statement process, with the next step being to submit the Response to Submissions by the end of 2025.

We will continue to progress towards planning approval for the Project, and while there is currently no option to connect to transmission lines in proximity to the proposed Project, we will continue to investigate alternatives to develop the Keri Keri Wind Farm in the future.

We remain committed to ensuring the community is informed of any updates via this hub and ongoing engagement activities.
