Wind resource can be monitored using different technologies, such as LiDAR and meteorological masts. Earlier this year we deployed some LiDAR trailers at a few different locations locally. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses light sensing techniques to determine wind speed and direction. It is still early days, but the initial results are really positive, giving continued confidence to the team at ACCIONA Energía. We are now looking to install additional wind monitoring equipment in the area so we can find out more about wind speeds, wind direction and the time of the wind.
