Bellwether Wind Farm installs first Met Mast

26 February 2026

The first meteorological mast for the Bellwether Wind Farm has now been successfully installed. Work began in mid‑February and was completed on 25 February.

Located in the Shire of West Arthur along Burnett Road, the mast will collect high‑quality wind data required by our turbine manufacturer. This information is more accurate than what can be captured by existing LiDAR devices and represents an important step forward in the wind‑farm development process.

The mast is a temporary guyed structure, similar in appearance to a radio tower. It has also been fitted with bird and bat monitoring devices to help record the species that fly at turbine height, providing valuable information that complements data gathered from ground‑based monitors.

We’re excited to begin analysing both the wind data and the wildlife monitoring results. These insights will play a key role in informing future development activities and the overall project design.
