Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm announces small grant and scholarship recipients for 2025

29 May 2025

ACCIONA Energía, the largest 100% renewable energy company in the world, is proud to announce another round of small grants and scholarship funding through the 2025 Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm Small Grants and Scholarship Program. This year, 31 local organisations and two university students have been selected to receive over $90,000 in funding, supporting a range of initiatives that benefit the community.

Marking its 13th consecutive year, the program has delivered over $690,000 in grants and shared benefits funding since its inception, strengthening ACCIONA Energía’s commitment to local development.

To celebrate the recipients, ACCIONA Energía hosted a morning tea at the Birregurra Grocer this week, providing an opportunity to congratulate the successful applicants and highlight the strong ties between the wind farm and the community.

Among this year's funded organisations is LET'S TALK Colac, a not-for-profit mental health foundation focused on breaking stigma, promoting help-seeking behaviours, and increasing community awareness. Their grant will go towards hosting the Colac & District Football Netball League LET’S TALK Round on 28 June in Gellibrand, where Otway District will face off against Simpson.

ACCIONA Energía’s Community Benefits Lead, Erin Mulquiny, was excited to see the unveiling of this year’s small grant projects and scholarship recipients. Extending heartfelt congratulations to the 2025 grant recipients, she highlighted the program’s ongoing impact on local organisations and students.

Mulquiny further remarked, “It's exciting to see the lasting impact of the Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm Small Grants and Scholarship Program on our community. Every year, we witness firsthand how these grants empower local organisations and individuals to drive positive change. This program isn't just about funding, it's about fostering strong connections, supporting important local initiatives, and ensuring that our community continues to thrive. We’re proud to be part of that journey.”

The Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm Small Grants and Scholarship Program will open applications for its next round in January 2026.
