MacIntyre Wind Farm First Nations Small Grants Program

First Nations Small Grants Morning Tea 2024

In a display of commitment to supporting local First Nations communities in the Warwick and surrounds area, ACCIONA Energía recently hosted a Morning Tea on Thursday, 12 September 2024, to recognise the successful recipients of the MacIntyre Wind Farm First Nations Small Grants Program. The program, aimed at fostering positive change within communities surrounding the MacIntyre Wind Farm, awarded grants to non-profit organisations focused on enhancing social, environmental, cultural, and economic outcomes.

The successful applicants were Goodstart Early Learning Warwick Percy Street; Kambuwal Corporation; Warwick State High School, and the Maree Aboriginal Corporation Land Council. These organisations, each making a difference in their own ways, will now have additional resources to advance their projects in 2024.

Goodstart Early Learning Warwick Percy Street plans to use its grant to purchase a 'Smart Board' for its Kindergarten Room, a tool that will greatly enhance learning experiences by integrating technology into everyday activities. This Smart Board will be especially impactful for the centre's children, many of whom come from vulnerable backgrounds, including those from low socio-economic and the local First Nations community. The new technology aims to prepare these children for a smooth transition to Prep, ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, has access to modern learning resources.

Through our First Nations Small Grants Program, ACCIONA Energía reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development and well-being of local First Nations communities, helping them thrive both now and in the future.
