Inspiring Young Minds for Australia’s Energy Transition at the 2024 LAUNCH Conference

2 September 2024

LAUNCH Conference 2024 - Keynote Presentation

At the 2024 LAUNCH Energy Conference at Gap State High School, Anna-Selina Young (Community Engagement Coordinator) delivered a keynote presentation on ACCIONA Energía’s MacIntyre Wind Farm project, showcasing how renewable energy can power a sustainable future. Speaking to students from the wider Brisbane region, we shared how projects like MacIntyre are not only major steps toward clean energy but can also be a gateway to exciting STEM career opportunities for young Australians. Together, we explored how young people can play an active role in this energy transition by pursuing careers in science and engineering, directly contributing to initiatives that benefit their own communities.

As part of the event, Anna-Selina also joined the assessment panel for the STEAM Challenge, where students worked hands on solving real world energy problems. With the theme of "Empowerment," we emphasised the importance of giving students the tools to lead Australia’s energy transition. Through projects like MacIntyre and events like the LAUNCH Conference, we aim to inspire the next generation to take on the challenge of building a more sustainable future across Southeast Queensland.
