ACCIONA Energía would like to inform the community that the Development Application for the Karara Battery Energy Storage System (Karara BESS) will be open for public submissions from 24 February 2025 to 17 March 2025. This is an opportunity for community stakeholders to have their say on the application.

The Karara Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a proposed extension of the MacIntyre Wind Precinct, aimed at enhancing grid stability and supporting the transition of renewable energy.

As part of our commitment to transparency and community engagement, we invite local stakeholders to learn more about the project and provide feedback. The Development Application documentation, including project scope and assessments, can be found under the Key Documents section on this page.

Submissions can be lodged by contacting Goondiwindi Council.

To answer any questions about the project, we will be hosting an in-person drop-in session on 5th March 2025, 2.30pm – 5.30pm, at the Karara Community Hall.
