2024 Goulburn Great Divide

1 September 2024

ACCIONA Energía and the Gunning Wind Farm were once again proud to support the Goulburn Great Divide cycling event, hosted by Goulburn Cycle Club.

The Goulburn Great Divide is an open cycling race established as a major local event following the successful hosting of the State & National Masters Championships from 2011 – 2013.

The races are held annually in August on the Old Hume Highway (Cullerin Road) between Gunning and Breadalbane. Over 150 – 200 riders compete in the weekend events.

In 2024, Day 1 consisted of Individual Time Trials for State Elite, U23, U19, Para, and Masters Championships, while Day 2 was for the Road Races in the same categories.

Representatives from ACCIONA Energía were pleased to be able to attend the events on the second day and were even more pleased to complete the course in a car, rather than on a bike with the road being anywhere between 94 – 141 km, up and down the long winding hills outside of Gunning.

The 2024 Goulburn Great Divide received funding support from the Gunning Wind Farm Small Grants Program. The funds provided supported the Commissaires, who are essential to the successful running of the annual event.
