We recently visited Afterglow Organics, where Fiona and her son, Kehan, gave us a tour of their property. We are happy to report that all 300 trees donated by ACCIONA Energía earlier this year have made it through the winter. The family wrapped them in hessian bags and wire to protect them from rodents, and their thorough care for the stock tubes has indeed paid off.

Kehan is also working on a syntropic/permaculture garden that includes yucca palms and some of our donated native trees. He plans to expand his knowledge by attending the National Academy of Permaculture for a six-week course, which is an exciting step for Kehan.

We shared positive feedback on the trees’ growth and health with the family, as they have done an excellent job caring for them. Soon these trees will provide shade for the active community of Clifton, where many people walk by with prams, dogs, and children.

Some trees are still in growing tubes in the family’s greenhouse, allowing them to plant in batches and protect them from the elements and wildlife.

We are very pleased with the outcome and look forward to seeing how the trees continue to thrive in the Clifton community. Thank you for being part of our journey toward a greener future!
