Component Transport to MacIntyre Wind Farm

18 November 2022

Community members please be advised that transport of turbine components are due to start in the second half of November.

We have completed some trial runs transporting blades, towers and other parts out to site and the transportation work is about to get underway.

Large over dimensional loads such as blades will be transported to site at night to minimise traffic disruption and smaller loads will be transported during the day.

Loads will be escorted by pilot vehicles and Queensland Police. We ask the community to please drive safely if they come upon these convoys on the roads and to follow signage and instructions from the pilot and police escorts.

Convoys will be regularly moving aside into overtaking lanes to allow vehicles through and minimise disruption.

A map of the transport route is available on this page under the Road Upgrade and Work section.

The transport route will travel from the Port of Brisbane south to the Logan Motorway before heading west towards along the Ipswich Motorway towards Gatton and Toowoomba along the Warrego Highway.

At Toowoomba transports will use the bypass before using the Gore Highway heading towards Milmerran and then south to Inglewood.

From Inglewood the transports will head north east along the Cunningham highway to Karara arriving at their destination.

Components will be along the route from midnight to 5pm Saturday to Thursday and transport will be completed by December 2023.

If yourself or others you know will be using this route and have any questions please post them here or email macintyre@acciona.com and we’ll respond as quickly as possible.
