Rural Aid Goondiwindi Long Lunch 2024

Rural Aid’s Goondiwindi Long Lunch, held on the 13th of September 2024, was an inspiring afternoon focused on supporting rural communities. We were honoured to be the principal sponsor of this event, as ACCIONA Energía is committed to helping communities where it is most needed.

It is incredible to see how Rural Aid has already raised over $100 million to support more than 17,500 farmers across Australia. We are proud to stand behind their mission to keep rural communities resilient and thriving.

The lunch brought together a range of special guests, including Rural Aid CEO John Warlters, award-winning journalist and MC Arlie Felton-Taylor, Goondiwindi Cotton pioneer Sam Coulton, and singer-songwriter Mick Lindsay. Leila McDougall, star and producer of Just A Farmer, shared her story, highlighting the importance of mental health support in rural areas. Each guest added something unique, making the event memorable and meaningful for guests.

The proceeds from the Goondiwindi Long Lunch and auction will directly support Rural Aid’s work, including mental health counseling, financial assistance, and volunteer services for farming families.

Our Community Engagement Coordinator Anna-Selina Young was joined by Alicia Kennedy PhD and Samuel Laffer from the Queensland Farmers’ Federation to support this important cause. We are proud to continue building stronger connections with the communities within the MacIntyre Wind Farm project footprint and look forward to seeing the socio-economic growth of the regions.
