The Gathering at Gunning is an annual event held to celebrate women, food and friendship in the Gunning community.

The event aims to foster a sense of community among women, promote mental wellbeing through supportive interactions and conversations, provide a safe space for women to share their experiences and challenges, and empower participants to prioritise self-care and seek support when needed. The event also seeks to reduce feelings of isolation and stigma surrounding mental health issues, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and connected community of women in Gunning and surrounds.

The event held this year on Saturday, 10 August 2024 also raises funds for Gunning District Community and Health Service Inc. This year the event was raising funds for the purchase of a bus for the Gunning District Community and Health Service to transport people with a disability.

Gunning District Community and Health Service is a non-profit community health care service supporting healthy living in the Canberra Country region. For almost 35 years Gunning District Community and Health Service has provided health care and support services to residents of the Gunning village and the surrounding region.

Gunning District Community and Health Service is a highly regarded organisation in the community, and the broader region, employing local staff and support workers.

The organisation services an area of more than 6,000 square kilometres spanning the Southern Tablelands and Canberra Country region from Marulan to the ACT, Murrumbateman, Boorowa, Binda, Crookwell, and the many villages, hamlets, and farming properties in this expansive area.

Their growth over the years has enabled them to establish a medical practice, bring a range of allied health services to residents and provide a trusted, flexible and co-ordinated health support service to the community.

The 2024 event was proudly supported by Acciona Energia through our Gunning Wind Farm Small Grants Program. Members of our Community and Stakeholder Engagement team were lucky enough to attend the Gathering at Gunning and had a fabulous time supporting a great cause and meeting many wonderful members of the Gunning community.
